Did you know that there is Adoration at SHJSHS every Friday from 8am-3pm during the school year? Since 2010, every student 7th - 12th grade has participated in Adoration as part of their Religion class each week. Each hour is also covered by a group of adult volunteers from across the 3 parishes in Salina. We pray for our school, staff, vocations, and any other needs that arise. September 27th, 2024 “Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.” Dear Love N’ Learn Families, We cannot express our gratitude for your continued patience, understanding, and love. We sincerely thank you for your continued encouragement and support. Although the timeline of the renovation project is longer than expected, we are confident our students will have a wonderful year with loving staff and a beautiful facility. We have some updated information to share regarding the final stages of the renovation project. The city will be inspecting the facility on 10/3/24, we are hopeful that the State Fire Marshall will be joining that inspection so that we may obtain our occupancy approval. If/when we pass the inspection, we will be able to formally initiate the licensing process with KDHE. We are hopeful that process will take between 1-3 weeks depending on how fast the state is able to process our application paperwork. We are praying, and giving as much communication to the state about the necessity of opening ASAP. They are aware of our situation but cannot guarantee any expediency. Which is why we are unable to provide a concrete date at this time. We are looking forward to the commencement of our PreK programs, followed by toddlers, and lastly infants. As more concrete dates become available, we will be scheduling a meet the teacher night for families to meet staff, familiarize themselves with the building, and complete any missing paperwork prior to the first day of classes. We truly appreciate your patience and understanding as we wrap up this remarkable renovation project. Your commitment to Catholic education, and Love N’ Learn Early Childhood Center is valued, and vital to the success of our program. Salina Regional Health Center will be providing on site flu vaccines Thursday, October 17 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Sacred Heart Jr. Sr. High School. This is during parent teacher conferences. All are welcome (children 6 months and older, students, parents, grandparents, SH and SMGS friends and supporters). Please bring your insurance card. If you have state insurance, we will unfortunately NOT be able to provide the vaccine at Sacred Heart. Dear Love N' Learn Families, We are providing you with an update on the status of inspections and licensing. We understand that you are eagerly awaiting information and potential start dates. Rest assured, we are sharing pertinent updates as they become available. We are still awaiting fire approval from the Office of the State Fire Marshall. Once received, we will begin the licensing amendment process with KDHE. As of this morning, the Office of the State Fire Marshall informed us that they have the necessary documents from the fire sprinkler company and will be scheduling them for review as soon as possible. Upon approval, we will proceed with licensing with KDHE. We are pleased to announce that we are moving forward with turf installation for our infant and toddler playground, creating a beautiful, safe, and comfortable environment for our youngest learners. As this process progresses, we will keep you informed. We look forward to the commencement of our PreK programs, followed by toddlers, and then infants. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we conclude this remarkable renovation project. August 26th, 2024 Dear Love N’ Learn Families, We want to first thank you for your commitment to Love N’ Learn Early Childhood Center and your patience with our renovation project. Secondly, we would like to provide you with updated information regarding our progress and anticipated opening. As previously mentioned, due to construction delays that are beyond our control, we have had to delay our anticipated opening date. As of Friday August 23rd, 2024, we were able to obtain a temporary certificate of occupancy for the PreK spaces, (the North and South wings of the facility). This allowed for furniture to be delivered Monday, August 26th, 2024. There is a wonderful team currently assembling that delivery, and our classrooms are coming together beautifully. This step has brought excitement and hope to our team, bringing us one step closer to licensure and opening. At this time, we are awaiting fire approval from the office of the State Fire Marshall. Once received, we will be able to begin the licensing amendment process with KDHE. Please know that we are doing everything in our power to move this process along, and are working diligently to get students in our building. Due to the unpredictable nature of this project, we are not able to provide an exact opening yet. However, we remain hopeful that PreK will commence in September, pending no further delays with construction or licensing. Infant and toddler programs are set to open in stages following the PreK opening. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience that this may have caused your family.
